At the same beginners course I attended in early 2004 with Southern Bonsai Society, I bought this specimen. From having no cascades in my collection, I now have two. |
I took it to one of our club's workshops and started the initial training. I repotted it at the same time, and guess what, it is still alive. |

In April 2005 I removed the wire to allow the tree some time to breathe, and replaced the wire in September. This time giving the tree more dramatic movement in the bends. It has flowered and bore fruit a number of times and is going to look quite grand once complete in a few years time. |
